Our art curriculum nurtures a passion for creativity while encouraging students to embrace the joy of getting messy and exploring the elements and principles of design.
Starting in kindergarten, students build foundational skills in color, line, and shapes, which grow more sophisticated each year. As they progress, students are introduced to a variety of art materials and techniques, developing their skills while learning to turn mistakes into masterpieces.
Our program emphasizes composition and inspiration, integrating lessons with other subjects such as faith, science, literature, and nature to provide a well-rounded, meaningful art experience. Through hands-on projects, students discover their creative potential and develop confidence in their artistic expression.
Students in K-4 are introduced to basic Spanish. The elementary Spanish program emphasizes written and verbal communication skills along with developing cultural awareness. Elementary students learn about various cultural traditions and celebrations of Spanish speaking countries.
The middle school program focuses on learning formal grammar to improve writing, speaking, and reading comprehension skills. They create various projects to practice their language skills and promote cultural awareness. Middle school students research different countries to learn about geography, history, government, religion, and culture.
Music class fosters structured creativity and continually using both sides of their brains. Students learn how to rise up through challenges and “mistakes” positively; to listen and show respect; to work well both independently and as a team. We explore multiple musical genres, styles, ensembles, historical influences, classroom instruments, composing, use proper terminology, and are engulfed in the language of music.
Most importantly, we work hard and have fun!
Our gym teacher focuses on how to use their body to glorify God! Below is a glimpse into some of what we cover throughout the school year looks like this:
We first start out by getting to better know each other, learning about Saint Sebastian - the Patron Saint of athletes, and going over physical education expectations in our classroom.
Followed by covering all these topics for 2-3 weeks at a time, we first begin by introducing and trying, then practicing and improving, and thirdly playing and mastering our techniques!
