Religion

5th and 6th grade Religion:
In fifth and sixth grade students will:
  • Attend weekly school Mass and monthly Adoration, and participate in Reconciliation.
  • Learn the concepts of the Creed through Sacred Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
  • Study God’s covenants with mankind as part of His loving plan.
  • Discover God's presence in liturgy and various forms of prayer.
  • Gain an understanding of and encounter Christ through the Sacraments.
  • Explore the vocations of the Catholic Church.
  • Model and share their faith during monthly activities with their 1st grade Spirit Buddies.
  • Participate in regular service projects.
 
7th and 8th grades Religion:
In seventh and eighth grades students will:
  • Attend weekly school Mass and monthly Adoration, and participate in Reconciliation.
  • Plan various school liturgies.
  • Identify, discern, and maintain appropriate physical, emotional, spiritual, and sexual boundaries.
  • Discover the Church through learning the concepts of the Creed and other Catholic theology.
  • Deepen their understanding that it is through Christ that they can fully live out God’s plan for salvation. 
  • Discuss and explain the theology of the body in relation to family life. 
  • Discover God's presence in liturgy and 
  • various forms of prayer.
  • Gain an understanding of and encounter Christ through the Sacred Scripture.
  • Experience an encounter with Christ through the Sacraments.
  • Explore the vocations of the Catholic Church.
  • Model and share their faith during monthly activities with their PK and Kindergarten Spirit Buddies.
  • Participate in regular service projects.
